Welcome to my website.
Sometimes it feels as if there is no one we can turn to when we experience difficulties in our life. This can leave us confused, angry, afraid, alone and helpless. It can make us feel isolated, anxious, depressed, with a lack of confidence and self belief. Talking to someone about your issues can help you through these difficult times. More importantly is when that person listens and hears you. As an experienced counsellor I will offer you a safe, confidential, non judgemental space in which to do this and I will support you to find the way forward that most meets your needs.
Areas of counselling I work with :
Abuse - Addiction - Anxiety - Bereavement - Bullying - Cancer - Carer's Issues - Child related Issues - Depression - Domestic Violence - Emotional Abuse - Historical Abuse - Loss - Lack of Confidence - Low Self Esteem - Menopause - Physical Abuse - Pet Bereavement - Relationships - Sexual Abuse - Self Harm - Stress - Students Issues - Work Related Issues
This list shows some of the areas and issues that counselling can help with but I understand just how difficult it is to try and label life’s problems. If your issue is not covered here, or you are in any doubt, please call me for a free and informal chat. You are under no obligation whatsoever and what you say is in the strictest confidence.
'Footprints' - I have a lovely private counselling room at Gilmourton just outside Strathaven. I am also able to offer counselling at Kilmarnock and East Kilbride.
Prior to the first session I offer a free, confidential consultation which lasts approximately 20 minutes. This can be done face to face at Gilmourton or by telephone for East Kilbride and Kilmarnock. It's important to find the right counsellor for you and this gives us the opportunity to talk to each other with no obligation, discuss what you're looking to gain from counselling and what I offer. You can then decide whether you wish to proceed with counselling.
'Pawprints' - You can have the choice of a one to one session with myself or having my two experienced therapy dogs in the counselling room with us. Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) can be beneficial in many ways.
'Walk and Talk' - Weather permitting at Gilmourton I offer the option of taking your counselling session outside.
See my pages on AAT and Walk and Talk for more information.
Fees are £40 per session and sessions will last an hour. Concessions are available for students at my Gilmourton counselling room.
